Distal spots and lacing

Re: Distal spots and lacing
What's the breed? I do not think tobiano on this one. This happens on a lot of horses where tobiano is not involved, such as my warmblood. All 4 white feet and ermines. I'm pretty sure it's thought to be a trait of sabino, and some people even tend to theorize that the ermines are a sign of a suppression gene. Ask ACC about it!
However, it does crop up from time to time as a minimal tobiano. This one just looks a little too normal for me, though.

Oh yeah. They're just a lot less visible on chestnuts, especially the chestnuts with the paler legs. But clip em up and wet em down... hoo boy!! *said in her best Kentucky hick accent*

Of course she's also got spots all over her face (related?) and is suspected to carry three patterns and yet is still fairly minimal. Her foal may tell us alot.
Re: Distal spots and lacing
I know I've seen them on bays/blacks (heck, got one in the back paddock, our standy lawnmower)...it occurred to me, while reading the previous, that black seems to be a white-pattern suppressor and that I could not remember ever seeing ermine spots on a chestnut. Of course, not "doing" chestnuts might have something to do with that... :rofl

Could be- I've seen some Homozygous Tobiano's looking just like that.
