Lymphatic system...

Forums

Anyone know much about it? I've got a couple questions.

Got a basic idea, it drains lymph fluid, other fluids and some fats from the system, it is a transport system that carries things in a similar way to the veins in the legs returning blood, it uses muscle contractions and is related to filled legs through lack of movement. The lymph glands are also related to hormones some producing/sensing them for negative feedback, not sure what or which though, would have to dig out my notes.

Thanks! That might really be helpful. I think I've got a horse oozing lymphatic fluid if that's possible.

Interesting. She just has little lumps all over her body oozing a sticky, yellow fluid. Apparently VERY, VERY itchy to her too. I've never seen anything like it.

The yellow fluid could just be plasma trying to wash away something - got pictures?....come on you must have?? :D lol !

My first thought is Strangles, I would get a vet out and quarantine immediately until it's ruled out. I think that if it is strangles and coming out other places than the throat though it's called bastard strangles and very dangerous.

Is this a clear fluid ACC or pus because i thought you meant a clear fluid but if it's not the others are right get a vet quick !!! then it does sound like strangles.

accphotography Sun, 11/08/2009 - 14:23

Oh no, it's not strangles. Her jaw lymphs are fine and no sign of fever or ANY other symptoms. The fluid is CLEAR yellow.

accphotography Sun, 11/08/2009 - 18:45

No she's got pus all over the ear, but these spots all over the body definitely sound lymphatic. I wonder what's causing the lymph overload.

I would call the vet out at this point - I wouldn't mess with anything with the Lymph system - any problems and it spreads way too quick. I once had a spot on my check that went into the Lymphs on my face - got infected not good and looked like a hamster !!!...not a pretty site !

Well she's on an immune stimulant drug so I'm not really surprised her lymph system is responding, I just thought it odd.

It's pretty much cleared up now. I couldn't find any more spots today.
