Re: Australian Waler Genetics
Brumbies aren't wild, they are strictly Feral.
"Nature precludes inbreeding through natural herd behavior," er...no, it most certainly does not, there are at least five definite behaviour patterns in wild and feral horses......oh, I can't be bothered!!!! :booty
ROFL :rofl I agree, RF...I only ready to the 2nd paragraph and then jumped to the bottom where I noticed it was from 1988 (hubby and I were married in Jan. of that year so I know EXACTLY how long ago that was - :bounce )
Re: Australian Waler Genetics
I was talking to a lovely lady that breeds walers and she still believes this. I would think many would because it's on their website it must be the truth. Oh well if I register my mare with them, I might try and see if I can have a chat with someone on the commitee about their outdated information, then I'll send them this way
Re: Australian Waler Genetics
Honestly, most of what I read did not seem understandable to me. There are lots of sweeping statements that don't seem to have any basis in fact. There also seems to be a general misunderstanding of some basic concepts in genetics and breeding.
