For Reference!!!

I get real and user names all switched around sometimes and have a brain-fart. So.... My user name is Jenks almost everywhere, and my birth name is Alecia. Most my close friends know me by both..... but I hate when I fail at attempting a birth name....why I try it? I dun know.... Welcome everyone! Alecia Albury aka Jenks

Paintlover Sat, 09/12/2009 - 18:35

Hi Alecia!!

I of course am Paintlover. However most know me by my given name, Emily West. :D

NZ Appaloosas Sun, 09/13/2009 - 02:10

OMG, Jenks, does that mean if we ever meet I'm gonna be in trouble for calling you Jenks? :rofl

ACCphotograhy literally everywhere.

Audrey McLellan (maiden was Audrey Catherine Crosby, hence the ACC)

Heidi Sun, 09/13/2009 - 08:46

Well, nothin' special for me...I'm still Heidi.

When I first joined internet forums, I was wary of using my real name so I used:
78SilvAnniv, a shortened version of my 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette
Hoof Hearted, at a very snarky website, though I wish I had used it at at least ONE horse site

TheRedHayflinger Sun, 09/13/2009 - 09:20

TheRedHayflinger...picked it just because it was fun..lol

usually go by Stauffer (which is my real last name) but got tired of using it...sometimes Stauffie.

so...you can also call me Heather Stauffer :)

I have a great friend I met on a horse forum I admin on--She goes by the name Hoofservant. Shortened to Hoofie sometimes. She lives in MI and I am in OH...when we get together for visits and stuff...I still call her Hoofie to her face and she calls me Stuffy (Stauffer=Stauffie=Stuffy)

Dilutes Sun, 09/13/2009 - 09:29

Well I'm Simone McArdle
My mum loved french names so Simone is the french pronouciation (and my middle name is Natalie which is french too).
Am I or my mother french? Nope she just liked french names lol.

Jenks Sun, 09/13/2009 - 12:44

No no! I just called Critterkeeper Daylene (oops) and I just wanted to explain that I'm bad with real names! LOL

You can always call me Jenks. My dad still calls me that!

Hello Emily, Diane, Heidi, Simone, Audrey, & Stuffy (cute Heather)! LOL Diane and Heidi are easy! Diane always signs her name so I cannot forget it (thank you - I'm getting CRS worse and worse).

Monsterpony Sun, 09/13/2009 - 15:22

Well, I am Monsterpony on a few places, which has lead to my being called MP or Monsterpony in real life, but I am most often Dierdre O'Brien.

supaspot60 Sun, 09/13/2009 - 17:03

well mine is probably obvious , supaspot is a prefix of ours , we used to breed bengals cats ...... SU for sue PA for patrick (husband) and SPOT because we love spotted cats and spotted ponies , the 60 is my year of birth

Rhaige9 Sun, 09/13/2009 - 18:50

Im a gamer nerd. Star Wars Galaxies online, and World of Warcraft when it's too cold in the winter to ride. My character's names on the games are always Rhaige or Raealyn. I've met people from the games in real life. They all know me as Rhaige. My hubby, who I met playing WoW, still has me stored in his phone as Rae. He's Moondawg on my phone. He sometimes calls me Rhaige instead of Jacqui.
Well, I am Monsterpony on a few places, which has lead to my being called MP or Monsterpony in real life, but I am most often Dierdre O'Brien.
And you'll have a small identity crisis in a few weeks cuz hubby's gonna be calling you Dierdre and I'll be calling you MP...LOL hell, I have to stop half the time to think when I say "MP" and get a blank look from him, to come up with "Dierdre". We will be safe as long as he doesn't see how it's spelled, and doesn't start calling you "Deedrah"

Daylene Alford Sun, 09/13/2009 - 20:19

No biggie Jenks although you did have me confused for a bit I finally figured out what had happened :rofl It happens to me all the time.

Well, I also answer to Dee, Deeds, Deej, Deedsie, Deeerdree, Deeders, Dyerdree, Deerdrah, Dweeda, Penelope and Beatrice so I can probably survive most anything you throw at me :rofl

Heidi Sun, 09/13/2009 - 21:00

I gotta know! HOW did Penelope and Beatrice get thrown in there?

...and how do *you* pronounce Dierdre?
I read a book with a character of that name, and the author phonetically sounded it out to: dear, dree.

Monsterpony Sun, 09/13/2009 - 21:23

Well, the Penelope is a long story; I have a friend who has the middle name of Paige. One day I was trying to remember it, but couldn't so she gave the hint that it is part of a book. The first thing that popped into my head was Print which she very unfortunately replied "Print? Yes, of course, my middle name is Print as that makes so much sense. Yes, Print it is." So that became her nickname from then on. After about a year of calling her Print and having her start to answer it much to her great annoyance, she decided I then needed a random name that started with P and she settled on Penelope. She has been calling me that for about 4 years now and a few other friends have picked it up as well so it sort of stuck.

Beatrice is a work nickname. One of the doctors, who I had known for years, was having a random moment and couldn't for the life of him remember what my name was. All he could remember was that it was "unusual" and the only unusual name he could come up with was Beatrice, which he then called me. All my coworkers thought it was hilarious so they started calling me it as well.

As to how to pronounce Dierdre, it depends on where you are from. In the US, I go by "Dee-dra" (silent first r). When I lived in Ireland, where it is pronounced correctly, it is sort of a mix between "Deer-dra" and "Dare-dra." You have to have an Irish accent to get it right though.

lipigirl Mon, 09/14/2009 - 04:35

Lipigirl stands for Lipizzaner girl of which I used to breed and still own one - other people know me as Amanda.xx

No sweat Jenks - Daylene and Kylene are so close it doesn't matter - I knew who you meant... :rofl

For the others, my given name is Joanna Kylene, but I go by Kylene. As my maiden name was Daddysman  , I will stick to my married name of Kincaid (Kylene Kincaid - how Irish is that?) .

Tianateke Fri, 02/26/2010 - 21:58

Tianateke is a combo of my first name and Akhal teke, my favorite exotic breed of horse of course. Not that I'd ever look right on one! I keep joking with hubby that my next horse should be a haflinger, suffolk punch, or belgian to match me! (not that my piggy pink QH cremello mare isn't close enough already!)

Danni Sat, 02/27/2010 - 18:33

Well I'm boring, my name is Danni :rofl

I do sometimes use my prefix's Millwood, or Kintara, and even sometimes Red Dirt Girl as it's the name of my fave mare, and we were both living in red dirt country for many years. But usually I just use Danni!!!

NZ Appaloosas Sun, 02/28/2010 - 00:07

Funny you use "Kintara"...I know people here who have that as the name of their farm.

Diane

Krickette Mon, 03/01/2010 - 10:16

Haha, I just saw this! I'm terrible.
Krickette aka Katie Simmons here!
I'm Krickette because my mom calls me that to make fun of how knock kneed I am
But I go by that everywhere on the internet pretty much, and I have quite a few forum friends who became irl friends who still call me Krickette.

Hey really? How cool! I haven't seen anyone use it before except I think some sheltie dog breeders as their prefix. I think it was some hills in the Wheel of time series.. But I'm sure it's other places too!!

NZ Appaloosas Mon, 03/01/2010 - 23:13

yeah, now I'm gonna have to go searching for that...being a total fan of WoT...LOL

The people I mentioned 'made it up, from "kin" (family) and "tara" (place/hill), so that there their home was the place for family to gather.

Diane

Danni Tue, 03/02/2010 - 03:54

Oh really, I like that! I never knew what it could mean LOL!! I'm not 100% sure where I made it up from as it's been in my head forever  But I am pretty positive it was WoT that first put it in my head even if I didn't particulary realise at the time :? I read it again a few years later and went OH there's Kintara LOL!

Jenks Tue, 03/02/2010 - 14:35

I've had the most recently released WoT book on my dresser for awhile now. I'm afraid of 2 things....afraid I may have to go back and read ALL the previous ones to remember where the heck we left off ages ago before Jordan died.... and afraid that the dang thing will never end with yet another writer.

Tianateke Tue, 03/02/2010 - 15:38

Oh he did die! I was wondering about book 11 as it seemed he was really padding the story and loosing the threads. I still think Loyale is my favorite character...I was getting pretty peeved with Rand. I wonder when Moiraine will resurface?

NZ Appaloosas Thu, 03/04/2010 - 00:45

I have sitting on my desk, The Gathering Storm, the book RJ was writing when he died, and the estate got Brandon Sanderson to finish. It's sitting there because I still haven't read Knife of Dreams. I was on a roll, had started back at #1 and read right thru' to Crossroads of Twilight, and my "provider" for the series couldn't find #11. Le sigh...so now I'm stumped, it's been several months...do I go back and start over, or do I just find #11 and read that and #12 together?

Jenks, if it has been a while since you've read the series, I'd advise starting back at #1 and reading them right thru'. It is totally amazing the things you connect from book to book when you do it that way! :bounce :bounce
