ACC and I were talking one day about stallions....and I told her THIS is the EXACT thing I want (cept in black LOL). (Ive also since changed my opinion slightly.) Very similar in my opinion to the Tekes I posted, with just a few slight differences.
I know lipi, the baroque breeds and the Teke are kinda opposites but I still like both, the seem to have a certain grace in common even though they are completely different types.

a fairly pointless little piece of cyberspace where I post random thoughts on just about anything, if you're bored any comments are welcome.
Anyone know their reasoning for shaving off the manes/forelocks on lots of the tekes?
It's a guess as I don't know but since they also have awful manes and tails - very straggly they might just decide to get rid of them altogether.....just a guess !!
*pokes* what is it? it looks bouncy. Oh, link says trakehner!
I like looking at long and lean, I think they are beautifull to watch but I'd rather ride my short and chunkys. Everytime I'm on a horse with longer legs I feel like they are going to tip over if I turn too fast. :laugh1
[quote="lillith"]Most people here will likely disagree with me but to me a lean, dry, lightweight teke is far nicer than a fat bottomed, low necked, breeze-block headed, straight legged QH.

No I'd agree with you.
Course, neither is nealry as good as a good Arab!!
And neither is well conformed.
Remember that old adage "two wrongs do not make a right"
lol, I know Rabbit, I was just illustrating that different people like different things, and I agree a well put together arab is hard to beat.

I guess I'm in the minority here, as I love Tekes. Here are some current videos of Tekes doing their thing. I'll see if I can find more on the modern Tekes. There is a wonderful video show Olympic Champion Absent.

What a priceless picture Gail. I LOVE his shadow. (it had me do a double take) 8-)
I thought you were going to send him to me because you couldn't stand the sight of him....
