Is he the daddy?

Okay, no pictures of the kittens. We don't have many cats around this area, and we've only seen our own personal barn cats around. No strange cats hanging out. However, our calico tabby (not even sure if I'm using the correct name for her color) had 5 kits today. Our only male is a black smoke (that is what I was told he was). The kits are a tortioseshell, a dilute tortioseshell (instead of black it is a blue-grey, but has the cream and buff flecks), and three that are "orange" but much lighter looking than other orange tabbys we've had. They might be a bit more buff looking...unsure on them at the moment as the light in the barn where she had them is poor and I didn't want her to get nervous and move them.

My mom was wondering if it was possible that we might have a tom hanging around that isn't our boy. We haven't seen another cat in years...and several of our neighbors have asked for kittens this year and last year as they just don't have any and the mice are crazy around here. I'm just curious as to if these two could have produced those kittens or not.

Here is momma and the one who is thought to be poppa. His hair coat is neat, white next to his body, black outwards

Oh LOL I assumed :-D If there are OO girls from an Oo mother then yes the father has to be O i.e.Ginger. I had a litter once from a non-ginger mother, there were two tortoiseshell and white girls and a black girl, they had to have had different fathers and there were two potentials, one ginger and white and one black so two fathers in one litter is possible.
Saying that though, the ginger boy could be the father of the tortie girls too, so you might never know their father was.

the off colored light orange and the OddBall were the two that stood out the most to me. I've been dealing with car issues today (battery most likely it's seeming and not the alternator) so didn't get a chance to get updated pics. I'm off work tomorrow and hopefully nothing comes up...want to get them out to play! :)

again no pictures...it was such a nice day I spent it on the back of a pony!
However, I DID snap a picture on my cellphone of a slightly homely orange tom that just appeared today!!! He's been hanging around the back patio all day.

it's been heck trying to get pics of these guys! They are true "barn cats" scurrying off at the sight of people now.

I managed to sit on the back porch steps and they came out to play back there and I snapped some pics. I just need to crop/resize them so they aren't HUGE

Once they are caught, they are calm and not spitting and hissing or anything, but they just don't want to be caught.

The lightest "orange" is just as light as ever...and is long haired, the rest are short haired.

Yep, I can see the black one is just torti with the better pic. I bet that light orange one is dd and I still think the oddball one is smokey although it may be dd instead of smokey. It is darker then my dd Tortie. If you get a chance part the hair and let me know if it is darker or the same color underneath. What an interesting batch of kitties. I would love to have the light orange one but my husband would kill me. 0:)

I do believe my boss is having me bring the long haired light orange and white to work so the ladies there have a cat :) I'll try to get pictures of the hair parted on OddBall. The markings on the torti have just now started to really *pop*

I love how the three oranges are all different shades of orange.
