black foal?

black foal. genetically tested EEaa. we did not test for anything else. Sire is black dam is black (she has a weird fading thing about her, during the summer she fades so much she looks buckskin)all of her foals do the same. What could it be? here is one as a few weeks old mother in background and second is the foal as a weanling.

Any cream (buckskin/palomino etc) in either parent's pedigrees? I am suspecting the mom is smokey black. Otherwise, that is one crazy faded black.

One of our foals looked like that as a foal, now as a rising 3 he is a definite black.

no palomino or buckskins in pedigree, just black. The only thing i could think of is either they are really fading blacks or someone miss registered a horse and smokey black has been hiding for awhile

we have 2-4 black morgan foals on the farm a year. and only this mare has foals that do this. All of the others are typical black slight fading or not, but not that crazy. One of her other foals is still on the farm and he looks like a dark buckskin all the time. he is Eeaa. but we never had thought about testing for cream until now.
