Bend Or behavior

Will a Bend Or spot ever occur on white (essentially erasing white)?

i think i saw a pic of a bend or that crossed both the base colour and a white patch. so i think it would be conceivable.

Is that a dark splot in the middle of that horse's forehead? If it is, cooooool. :ugeek:

Yes it is. It's like she had a normal narrow blaze... then a big clod of tar smacked her. :rofl There is a definitive darker circle there and it left a clear outline of her blaze. I really think it's a Bend Or or something, not just a star and a broken strip.

Here you can see the other side of it better and the little trail of white that connects the "star" with the rest and just how perfectly circular (well, oval) the spot is:

Is it a distinct spot, or is it just countershading making the middle of the face darker?
Have to go dig up pictures of RA now :love

Having looked at it up close with this question in mind, I really feel it's a distinct spot.

Agreed

Yes I agree. You can see the shape of the spot there too, it's not like it's just a curve in the marking, it looks like a hole was cut out of it (or a big splotch was set over it).

there was another foal on there (i've been looking at foal pics because they are so darn cute)....but he had a spot the same color as his body....let me try to dig him up

loads of cute facial markings on the foals there...I've been working backwards from 2009 and i'm only at 2007 right now...I just want to giggle when I see some of the facial markings! some pretty unique looking ones.

It looks darker to me too. Interesting that it's on a red... I was just wondering if it ever happened on a red. however, if it really were a Bend or in this case, we should be able to see it.

Not really uncommon no. I just had never considered a Bend Or could be a cause until now.

I would 'throw out' the ones that are tobiano and something else as the tobi can be causing something weird like that.
