he is a 18 month old Shetland we are trying to find out what color he is whether it is a bay black buckskin or smokey black or a mixture of cream dun or sivler
he is reg from a foal as a buckskin but we aren't sure
sire is a bay dun and grand sire is reg just as dun grand dam is reg as bay
dam is a pally pinto carrying silver grand sire is buckskin grand dam is chestnut pinto
this is his complete pedigree can go back a fair few years http://67.199.42.15/sams/animaldetails.cfm?aid=100562&display=pedigree
we are planing on testing him just haven't got around to it.
any help with what color he is would be great.
note the pic with the ribbons he does have black make up around the eyes and muzzle
Unless there is Cream
Unless there is Cream present, Daylene, in which case the Silver does not show so much, but I also do not think he has Silver. I think he is smoky black as that does tend to show more on Minis than on BHs- you are in Oz- right? So this is a UK (based) Shetland or an AmShet??
I think black on this one. I
I think black on this one. I won't completely rule out brown but personally I don't see it. 50/50 chance for smokey black the only way to know for sure is to test.
I also don't think he is silver, especially since Shetlands with silver are usually very apparent. I have seen silvers that don't visually look silver so anything is possible.
