Any guesse of the 3 dilutions?
Was posted on a forum here and I have no idea if it has been tested but it is highland/connemarra cross...

black with dun and silver? or black with roan and silver-- those were just my first impressions..don't even know if those exist in those breeds...neat looking horse though!

Is that Harkaway Lodge Velvet? She's supposed to have dun, cream and silver, but I don't think she's tested. Although I'd be pretty confident on the dun and silver.

Here is another pic of her

Oh and Velvets dam (connemarra side) was said to be by a yellow dun (buckskin) and out of a Taffy (silver). Don't know if she was a registered Connie though. Supposed to be a weird colour herself.

Sorry, I didn't know if you were asking or telling

I love this pony though, have eyed her off for a while LOL!

I think she might have been testing us... ;).

I would have said dun and silver for SURE and if three were present cream would be the other.

If Velvet's dam is the one I think (Ballantrae Crusheen), she wasn't pure Connemara, no silver in Connemaras but definitely Cream gene. Crusheen's breeder loved playing with colour and was quite ahead of her time (she died around 15 years ago). We have 3 pure bred Ballantrae mares.

Dun is very common in highlands so is definately possible, I'd say black dun possibly with cream.

Cream does not really show on Black Dun on it's own, so I would say there is Silver in there as well, did we not have a discussion about Silver in Highlands and decide it was there??

The Silver would probably come from her Connemara side, Ballantrae Crusheen was part Connemara, her sire was a silver Timor pony. Her breeder had quite a few silvers.

Really? I've never seen a silver Timor pony! I mean I know it's always 'said' that's where silver came from in the Australian silvers but I've never actually heard anyone know one directly! Is the Ballantrae breeder still around? I'd love to talk to them.

May not have been pure Timor but Jo Heard was really into colour breeding. she had 2 studs one for her colour and one for purebred Connemaras. She died almost 20 years ago but her husband and daughter still live at the farm, lots of photo albums to look at there.

There is not known to be Silver in Connies, so did you meanr that is where the Cream came from?

Yes, the cream is from the Connemara side and the silver from the Timor pony side of the part Connemara dam, Ballantrae Crusheen.
