Another weird one

He belongs to sombrero ranch. Not sure if he was born this color or not. Skin fungus or color pattern?? They call him Happy Appy it says, but doesn't look like any normal expression of Lp to me. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/photo.php?fbid=1383557304057&set=a.1… http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/photo.php?fbid=1459639526065&set=a.1…

darn - must have to be a friend to see her pics and she has way too many to sort through on her web site to find him. I sent her a message to see if she will send me the link on her web site.

I am really not sure on this one. Maybe a de novo mutation? Or something funky going on with Lp + somatic mutation.

:-? I'm with you MP, I am thinking a funky LP thing going on...he reminds me of midway transformation stage of the bay varnish roan Appys my neighbor in Spokane, WA used to breed (only theirs started on the face). He is kinda puzzler... :-?

The 'colouration' around the eye leans to Lp, as I would think grey goggles would be more 'white' looking...the fact that it is on the underside of the neck and on the chest sort of rules out fungal infection for me.

In the photo labed CDR10-4012, the right hind looks "shiny", but I can't tell if that's "wet shiny" or "white striping shiny"...could it be that this horse has 'bloody shoulder' to an extreme? :-?

Well, my screen is old but I do not see any characteristics at all. I see a Bay horse who has something else going on- possibly, as said, fungal.....
