another silly question....

Re: another silly question....
Yeah, that was my problem, the nn. Like, there are so many things that would just be nn, I guess you could just list everything, and what it has will be obvious and what it doesn't would be process of elimination. But I don't know how many things there are, or what. I mean, it seems like something standardized would exist, surely? Or I could just simply list what it does have, like if all it is is smokey black with sabino, tobiano, and frame, I could say Ee/aa/nCr/nSB1/nO/ToTo and everyone could just assume it's negative for silver, champagne, pearl, splash, grey, etc etc. But I guess part of my brain wants to cover all the bases and have a certain format so that you can see everything.
Re: another silly question....
IMO the only thing that is truly standard at this point is red factor first, and then agouti.
For me, I would put it as Red Factor, Agouti, Gray, then the dilutions, and then the paint markings.
I also wouldn't use nn at all but rather lower case letters. Ie. crcr for negative cream CRcr for heterozygous cream and then CRCR for homozygous cream. Same with SB1 and everything else. The only time I personally use NN is for HYPP and HERDA and then I say something like HYPP NN. Never just NN.
If you really wanted to use NN I would state something like Cream: NN. Bbut IMO if the horse doesn't have it I would not list it at all (except HYPP, HERDA and LWO).
Re: another silly question....
That's a good question, not silly at all. To me, what you posted would read: heterozygous smokey black not carrying ??? that would need to be defined (zz, dd, chch?).
