Another mustang! Flaxen sorrel?

Okay, I think my horse is sorrel/chestnut, and I think he is flaxen maned but it's not the standard color I expect from a flaxen mane. Darker and golder I guess. We are getting a lot of opinions that he is a palomino under all that so I thought I'd get opinions! His mane is just a lighter color of his body hair and his body hair is getting darker and darker. . .
He is another BLM mustang that I adopted a week ago. He is noticeably darker now (a shade or two) which I attribute to having a stall and good food maybe?

yesterday. . (not great lighting so I don't know how accurate the color is. He seems that dark now though. . .)

Definitely chestnut with flaxen and sooty IMO.
