3 for 1?

What do you suppose they mean by that? http://atlanta.craigslist.org/grd/1124839936.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

usually it means a mare that is rebred with a foal by her side.

Krickette Thu, 04/16/2009 - 10:17

yup yup. they are all over our local paper, lol. I remember when I was little I thought it was awesome, and when we'd horse shop I'd BEG my mom to get the 3 for 1, but she was wiser than I, and always told me no immediately. I didn't understand, it sounded like a great deal, lol!!!

Just odd that they don't mention a foal and state "should" be bred to a "red". LOL And she's a "pant" mare.

I believe they mean that she is possibly bred to a red stud. So bascially she should be in foal to a red stallion.

Uhhhh. 800 for two. That's 400 each. And why are you not headed over there yet? (I see this attitude does not stop at the TX border)

Just a bit hesitant about the "rockmart pant" thing. Is that dumb as a rock? The pant? Or the owner? :laugh1

'Inneresting' barn too. ;)

Jenks Fri, 04/17/2009 - 07:07

I know. The boards on the ground and all? sigh. Sara got me scanning Craig's list.

critterkeeper Fri, 04/17/2009 - 10:18

Heck, if my barn looked like that, Animal Control would be ALL over me for "neglecting" the safety of my animals. :sad I suspect they are "remodeling" but who knows - some people just don't care. :hammer .But then if I had a rock smart, pant mare who might or might not be bred to a red stud, I guess my barn would look like that too. :laugh1

OK THIS was how I SHOULD have told the joke!

VL - I am actually quite tempted. I keep saying, I don't need her, I don't need her, I don't need her.

But she needs you, she needs you, she needs you.
(But in all honesty, for me, that good deed of bringing her -to a temporary?-home, would not be worth 800 though)

Ya, the Ga Equine Rescue League and the Dept of Ag both are looking for foster homes. That would probably be the best idea. I need to get my pasture back up to snuff, but especially when Cyn leaves, I'll look for at least one to care for.

Cyn? :? Training or....

Jenks Sun, 04/19/2009 - 11:10

Ya training. He's not going anywhere. Not anytime soon anyway! I think I'm going to buy meeself some panels though and put a round pen together.....I just had a nice little session with him. I'm just spoiled because Khaos is so eager to please and sweet. Cyn is not. He must be made to see who is boss I guess.
