2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games

Anyone thinking of going? I am hoping to buy tickets when they go on sale and was wondering if anyone here was going to be there or if you had any advice on attending an event like this?

Ditto. OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive, but really really wanna go. Guess I'll just have to stick to Rolex.

I know they are expensive, I am planning on just going to two different events and not being there long. If I can get tickets for the team vaulting and the obstacle driving it will be $85 per person. I didn't think that was to terrible. Dressage and reining on the other hand *faint*. The hard part is going to be finding the lodging.

ACC, can't you get press badge for taking photos? :D

I really have no idea where I will be in a years time but I need to at least try to make it. :)

I know. I wanted to see the eventing and it would be $305 for one person just to see all the eventing. Its CRAZY.

ACC you need to contact the organizers and present your credentials (read portfolio) to demonstrate you are a professional equine photographer and not just "someone wanting a free pass" - lol. The best part is that once you are accepted and credentialed, they will usually contact YOU for future events (I loved working in the newsroom at the paper - free field passes to games like Carolina/Dallas :love ). Good luck.

So lodging seems to be the biggest issue!! There are rooms available but you are talking rooms that are normally $75-$125 are now $200-$350+ a night!!!! I don't think it is right to charge so much more!!! They are going to book solid no matter what the price but why do they need to be so greedy. :( I understand that they will be busy and fully staffed for the event but you would think it wouldn't triple the room prices. I can go to Louisville and get a Days Inn but I have NEVER had a good experience with them. Oh well, I'll just keep looking.
