Lovely Arabian/Trakehner Cross Filly *Back on the Market*

I'm posting this on behalf of the breeders, who would very much like to see this filly get a good home.. WC Impetuous is a 3 year old filly who currently stands 15.2 hh. She has stunning type, is well started under saddle, with lovely gaits and a sweet, bold attitude. She by the Arabian stallion, AO Breeze - http://www.aobreeze.net - and out of a very high quality Anglo-Trakehner mare by the Canadian hunter breeding sire of merit, Eyes To Rule. AO Breeze is a multiple in-hand champion on the open, sporthorse and main ring circuits, including two Scottsdale Top Tens, and is set to debut under saddle in jumpers this fall. Her dam, Imari, is currently eventing under a junior rider. This is a wonderful opportunity to own a lovely, National quality filly with unlimited potential in-hand and under saddle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm0VqYPKtNE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxP_vqroR30 [img]http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/MaigrayBellivaunce/Imp/imp3.jp…] [img]http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/MaigrayBellivaunce/Imp/imp2.jp…] [img]http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/MaigrayBellivaunce/Imp/imp1.jp…] [img]http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/MaigrayBellivaunce/Imp/imp6.jp…] [img]http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/MaigrayBellivaunce/Imp/imp4.jp…] [img]http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/MaigrayBellivaunce/Imp/imp5.jp…] [img]http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/MaigrayBellivaunce/Imp/post-13…]

Impetuous has been consigned to the Arabian Horse Times Online Auction, which starts today and goes through Oct. 17th. She is listed as #331, and bidding starts at $1000.00.

This was Imp's first schooling session over jumps as 2 year old:

Her dam, Imari, being evented by a junior rider:

Her sire, schooling a bit over 4'. He took up to 3'6" classes in open competiton after 2 weeks of training, and a Reserve Championship at the Arabian/Half-Arabian Sport Horse Nationals 2 weeks after that.

Received word via breeder and sire's owner that the reserve on this filly was dropped at the last moment and she sold for $500.00. Both breeder and sire's owner would have gone and got her at that price, but they were not contacted. Trainer had earlier turned down offers up to 7x that amount and has not responded to inquiries. They would really, really like to know where she went. If she is in a good situation, great, but if she is not, or is being resold again, breeder will take her back.

The trainer. The good news is they found her, a lady in CA bought her and plans to do dressage with her. She got a very nice horse.

That's a relief. My jaw dropped when I saw how much she was sold for - she looks like she's worth waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more. Yikes! Thank goodness she seems to have a decent home?

Yeah, everyone was really relieved to find her. The frustrating thing is, her listing price was $7900 and she was bid up to $3500 in the first auction. She didn't make reserve, yet she was the second highest selling lot in that auction. I thought that was really impressive, considering she was a warmblood mix, not shown, with an unknown pedigree, in a low market. The trainer obviously trains for the purebred showring, and all of what I just listed doesn't usually ring a lot of bells there. I thought he should have let her go then.

The breeder called him up and asked if they could help, and he was apparently quite rude. The sire's owner tried to help too and fielded private offers that were higher and he still wouldn't let her go. He wouldn't even respond to them. Fast forward to now, and she's been on the feed/training bill for a year, and the market is rock bottom. The horse world is small. People know she's got a high reserve. He doesn't seem to think much of her, which turns off the show ring clients, and he's not marketing her to the open/sporthorse crowd, which is what she was bred for. I'm guessing at this point he just wanted her gone. It's pretty sad though, because he cut off his nose to spite his face. He could have made a lot more money if he had just worked with them.

I would but I've never owned a horse myself before and she'd be better off with someone that could let her true potential shine. :( I'm still drooling over her, though!

Oh TP, I would love to see her go to someone like you! She so badly needs a stable home for a bit. This is how good horses slip through the cracks, they get shuffled around and around, and their training and confidence deteriorate.

What's going on with them right now? Do they have any schooled ones up for sale?

Maigray Wed, 12/14/2011 - 10:44

No. They haven't sold a horse under saddle since Ironstone (which was a disaster). They have one foal on the property, who is not theirs but is for sale. They are expecting one foal next year. Impetuous is on the market and Maestro should also be this spring. Ironstone has disappeared.
