Palomino or buckskin paint?

Hi everyone! Brand new here, arrived because of a recent discussion with my vet about the color of my horse. I've had him for 8 years now, he's 11 years old. His father was a palomino Paint with brown eyes and the dam a black and white (with blue eyes) Spotted Saddlehorse. My horse has one blue and one brown eye, and black halos around all of his color.

Pics of him:

Head shot:

Head shot showing the halo around the color (it's at least on his skin, if not an actual ring of blackish fur):

Side shot:

Help! Is he buckskin, or palomino? I want to make sure it's right on his registration. He has a black streak on his forelock and tail where the skin is also black.

Background: when I got him, I was told he was a palomino paint by the breeder and by his original vet. Now I've moved, and his new vet says he's buckskin. I do know his sire has bred both.

It can be hard to tell on horses that have so much white.  In this case, he is buckskin.  The white mane and tail is due to having so much white.  Palominos will not have black ear tips.

I really want to see the pics but it won't show them. I am also looking at a filly that is advertised as pally but has black ear tips and tail so I know she is a buckskin but I would love to see a similar horse.
