Calico Tobiano

I've heard about it, but I'm not sure I understand what it is. Apparently the latest edition of Equine Color Genetics had a section on it as well. I know some patterns of sabino are referred to as calico in western circles but it is not the same as calico tobiano. Any insight?
I just got in touch with a old friend, thanks to Amanda :) Anyway she sent me pictures of her horses and told me about the website where I could look at their sire. Is he a calico Tobiano? He just has the one darker spot and it's pretty dark, here is the pics of him. http://www.freewebs.com/katebarnz/apps/…" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
He has those dark spots on his hip and flank AND a gold spot on his left elbow. He sure is an odd one!

As far as calico tobiano goes it seriously looks like the white markings block sections of base coat from being touched by the dilute. Need to go off an draw another chart. The movement of the color suggests it too much.

On a gray wouldn't a dark mark like this be called a blood spot?

I had a bay horse that had a noticeable darker blotch on her neck, about 3-5 inches.

Is that something different than the new calico?

A girl told me, that she thought that my new Walking Horse foal is Calico Tobiano. I have never heard of the calico before, and it's almost impossible to google it.

Here's my new boy:

As you can see on the first picture, he has some really unusual markings on his hind, and he also has some on the other side.

On this picture it actually might be easier to see:

I know that the calico gene only will show if the horse has both the creme and the tobiano gene, and this boy has both.

Do you think he could be calico tobiano, and if - How do I know for sure?
I've heard that it isn't possible to test?

He looks like your average buckskin tobiano to me. Calico tobianos have 1 or more patches of non-cream color. Does your boy have any bay/red/non-cream spots?

I see he has a big pointed spot over and down his butt that's a much richer color, but it's still clearly buckskin. Probably a somatic.

Thanks for your answers.
Well, I don't know if he has any patches of non-cream color. I haven't seen him yet (I'm waiting to get him to Denmark).
But unless the mark above his tail is bay, I doubt that he has:

So he's just regular buckskin tobiano, or? (sorry, I don't know much about the colorgenetics just yet)
